Here in Carpenter Country, we became an international author in 2013, when some wonderful reader in the United Kingdom bought a copy of our young adult e-novel, The SkyHorse. Thank you, anonymous reader! You made our year.

This summer, we downloaded an e-book by British author Roy Sheppard. He sent an email to thank us and to let us know we were the first download from a country other than his own. We were honored to be the ones who made Mr. Sheppard an international author. Turnabout’s fair play, don’t you think?

Since we’ve crossed international boundaries as both readers and writers, we were delighted to discover a blog hop commemorating International Authors’ Day. What’s that? You say you’ve never heard of International Authors’ Day? We hadn’t either, and there’s a very good reason for that—it doesn’t exist!

Of course, some people think SkyHorses don’t exist either, when we know perfectly well they do. So who’s to say there isn’t an International Authors’ Day on a calendar in a place we have yet to visit?

In fact, we’ve written the occasion in ink on the calendar right here in Carpenter Country, a magical place that, like our stories, is unreal but not untrue.

To make sure you mark this special day on your calendar too, we signed up for the International Authors’ Day Blog Hop taking place Monday, July 14 to Sunday, July 20, 2014. The hop host is Debdatta Dasgupta Sahay from bookr3vi3ws.in, and lots of bloggers are participating and offering great prizes. All you have to do is hop from blog to blog using the link posted below (beneath the Rafflecopter widget) and enter to win!

Isn’t it wonderful to design a world where creatures can really exist? Dragon, telepathic wolves, sky horses? They’re real if we make them so. Good for you!
