ZZZZZZZZZZZZZoooom! That’s the sound of time flying in Carpenter Country, faster than a speeding hummer.

Can you believe eight weeks zipped by since the last news post? We can’t either. And do we have news! Hop right on into our hummingbird-speed writing world and let’s catch up!

A virtual plate of freshly baked cookies and a mug of hot cocoa, anyone?

Mmmmm. Now that we’re comfy and cozy, where should we start? Oh! Did you say cozy? Let’s begin with BIG news about a NEW BOOK! Yes! We would like you to…

1—…meet Fae!

Fae is the heroine of Murder by the Books, a mystery released November 26, 2018. When she gets a letter from a grandmother she never knew, Fae comes face to face with murder, embezzlement, romance, and a hidden family legacy.

Getting the word out about a new book takes a whole creation of writers. We’re fortunate to know many lovely authors who took the time to help us introduce Fae to the world.

Next, we’ll flit through Carpenter Country gardens, and invite you to…

7—…share our love of plants

Carpenter Country essays bloom with pictures and essays about gardening adventures, so you already know we admire the flora in our lives. Heck, we wrote a whole book starring plants. The Ghost in The Gardens is the story of Chrysantha Howe, a girl who loves plants.

The Ghost in The Gardens also includes a short story about Zinnie, a girl who can talk to plants. Our publisher, Mirror World, is serializing the story, The Adventures of Flower Girl, on their blog.

Here’s the first installment.

Now that you’re seeing the world in a different light, take a few minutes to bask in the sunshine and…

8—…listen to the audio of a new short story

Once upon a time, Carpenter Country was home to several beautiful equine friends. If you’re a horse lover too, we invite you to listen to our short story, The Love of a Horse, published by SunLit Story Time.
