Tell Me Why Again?

Thanks for sharing this!

The famous chicken who made history by crossing the road died yesterday in a tragic accident. Local news reports say Y. Didshee was a victim of a hit and run incident on the narrow rural highway outside her hometown Coop.

Ms. Didshee had an illustrious career as a road crosser, with millions following her exploits and trying to explain her motives. Friends say she took up the dangerous sport as a young chick and never looked back.

“Crossing the road was no joking matter to her,” says C. Little, a long-time acquaintance of Ms. Didshee. “We used to describe her as part chicken and part crazy.”

In a book about her life, Ms. Didshee stated her goal was to serve as a role model for risk takers everywhere. To that end, she refused to perform what she termed “bird-brained” stunts, and insisted on always looking both ways before heading out on an adventure.

Surprisingly, she was also quite a homebody. Her nesting instinct was legendary, and she attributed her many successes to her stable private life at “The Coop,” as she called her home.

“She spent her days getting to the other side,” says Ms. Little. “But she never flew The Coop.”
