Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
“Of course I meant what I said. That is exactly why I should not have told you.” Jack spun away from her.
She rubbed her hands along her arms, much the way he had earlier. “I don’t understand.”
He turned back, his face tight. “I am still not free of this curse. Maybe I never will be. The sample is gone, and the chances are very good Hurricane Lulu will make the Fountain disappear before Tia Bella can get here.”
His argument made sense. Still…
She said, “We have the GPS coordinates. We can find the Fountain again.”
“Can we?” Jack rubbed his hand across his face. “Having the coordinates means we know where the Fountain was. We do not know where it might surface again.” He paused. “Or when.”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in two takes, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. The new positioning of the audio booth may not work out. We’re hearing a lot of background noise in the original. Fortunately, the noise removal effect in Audacity takes most of the noise out.
Comments. So very easy to fall into breathing patterns that do not work well with audio. Warming up the voice and being conscious of inhalations makes for better audio.
Story changes. Quite a few changes to the written version this week. The dialogue appeared stranded on the page with no corresponding action or reaction by the characters. We added several lines to show what they were feeling.
