Jack and The Fountain of Youth — Audio Installment 79
Read along with us!
Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
“I don’t understand,” Nessa said. “Why would someone break in and steal a jar of water?”
“Not just any jar of water. That water came from the Fountain of Youth.”
“But who knew—Tenspot?”
“He is the only other person who knows about the water besides you, me, and Harey.”
And Tia Bella, who still hadn’t returned his call.
“Where is Harey?” Nessa dashed across the greenhouse and into the office. She emerged a second later. “He’s not here!”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after two practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. Nice quiet morning in Carpenter Country and only needed the by-now standard technical effects. The microphone has been recording a strange bumping noise so we’ll have to investigate that going forward.
Comments. Nasal voice early in the a.m. Interesting how the time of day, the humidity, and what we eat and drink affects the quality of the recording.
Story changes. Several changes to the written version this week. We removed one phrase to make Jack sound more certain, and changed another to clarify what he was talking about.
