She relaxed as she listened to the answer.

So her sister wouldn’t hear, Jack mouthed, “Is everything okay?”

She nodded and moved away, walking into the greenhouse.

He picked up the FRESH PEACHES jar and shook it, making the water inside swirl. By unlocking the Fountain’s secret, Nessa’s brother might also figure out what would happen once the spell was reversed.

What were the chances? Did he dare hope that he and Tia Bella could have a normal future, as shiny as the colgante Tenspot had pulled from the Fountain of Youth? If so, Bradley wouldn’t be the only one released from prison. Though they’d never committed a crime, Jack and Tia Bella would finally be free too.

SHOW NOTES

We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.

Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.

Technical. We almost missed the golden hour for recording. Amazing how much noise the mic picks up that we never notice.

Comments. Having the booth set up and the mic in place finally brings consistency to the recordings and makes mastering the sessions a ton easier too.

Story changes. Massive changes to the written version this week. We revised the grafs with Jack’s thoughts about Bradley because both Jack and Bradley are “he” and determining which “he” was being referred to was a tad confusing.

The SkyHorse. Fourteen year old Tovi thinks finding a flying horse is fabulous luck–until a mysterious stranger says finders aren’t always keepers.

Dream Stealer. Is stealing a dream better than losing your own?

Walled In. When her father is accused of fraud, seventeen year old Vandy Spencer discovers her entire life has been built on a heart-shattering deception.

Pirate Summer. When her brother disappears, Josey is sure she knows where he’s gone. And the only way to bring him home is to travel two hundred years into the past with a boy she can’t trust.

A Cause for Murder. Someone at Happy Haven is a killer. Septuagenarian sleuth Emma Twiggs navigates madcap mayhem, multiple mysteries, and murderous motives to discover who has a cause for murder.
