Jack and The Fountain of Youth — Audio Installment 129
Read along with us!
Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
“Holy smoke!” Mr. Sterling whipped a pair of reading glasses from his pocket and shot forward. “This medalla is an extremely rare sixteenth century Spanish artifact. Mind if I take a closer look?”
He scooped the pendant from Nessa’s palm as Jack’s phone signaled an incoming text.
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. Forgot to close the sound booth entirely and had to eliminate refrigerator noise. Didn’t even hear the refrigerator while recording, but the Yeti sure did!
Comments. We think we’re getting better with “old man voice” for Mr. Sterling. 🙂 Not meant to be ageist, just a point of effort for a female narrator.
Story changes. No changes to the written version this week. The sentence structure and words worked well in the switch from text to audio.
