Jack and The Fountain of Youth — Audio Installment 127
Read along with us!
Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
“The Luminary will not be printing an exposé,” Jack said. “Neither will the Pryer, even if I have to buy both papers to make certain of that. There is no story, Mr. Tennies. There never will be.”
“There’s no scheme either.” Nessa glanced at Sheriff Garrison. “I think I can speak for Cori. We won’t be pressing charges. We all need to put the past to rest and have a little faith in others.”
Mr. Tennies’s jaw dropped.
“Are you sure?” Sheriff Garrison’s radio cackled. She slid into the patrol car and checked her on-dash computer. She emerged smiling. “Lulu cleared the area, and headed out over open water. She’s been downgraded to a tropical storm. She’s breaking up fast.”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. Dry mouth and a strange humming background noise bedeviled this week’s recording. Mostly removed during mastering (or amateuring, which is really what we do). 🙂
Comments. Had to go back to Installment 122 and listen to Sheriff Garrison’s voice in order to maintain continuity.
Story changes. Minor changes to the written version this week. The sentence structure and words worked well in the switch from text to audio.
