Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
“No, he didn’t have a Swiss bank account.” Unless she could make Mr. Tennies see the truth, his bitterness was going to ruin his life—and Tenspot’s. “Bradley didn’t con anyone.”
Nessa jammed her free hand into her raincoat pocket. She brushed her fingers across the coolness of Jack’s medal. Was this how he felt when she wouldn’t believe him about the Fountain?
“Bradley was positive he’d made a breakthrough,” she said. “He put his heart, soul, and all our savings into his research. When he ran out of funds, he found a partner. But Dennis only wanted money. Bradley was innocent. He put his trust in the wrong man. Don’t you realize we’re as broke as you are?”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. The standard list of Audacity effects continues to work well.
Comments. As we near the end of this set of installments, we are pleased with how far we have come from the first few efforts. We’re not professional narrators and we don’t intend to try to be. We’re happy with the level we have reached and with the knowledge that we can record our own books because we have put in the time to improve.
Story changes. Minor changes to the written version this week. Even though we dislike body parts acting on their own, we still find instances of that in our writing. One more area of continuous improvement, much like the recording of these installments.
