Jack and The Fountain of Youth — Audio Installment 124
Read along with us!
Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
“Our lives were ruined too.” Nessa sagged against Jack. The trial and all that had happened before and after it was still fresh. “Bradley was innocent. His partner, Dennis, stole the money from their company.”
“Yeah, right. His silent partner, the one the cops could never find any trace of.” Mr. Tennies snorted. “Bradley was guilty, all right. The facts were plain enough for a jury. Your brother traded on his reputation as a chemist to lure investors into believing he came up with a new drug that could cure cancer. But once he had the money stashed in his Swiss bank account, the research ground to a halt and his claims were exposed for the con scheme they were.”
Mr. Sterling whistled through his dentures. “He had a Swiss bank account? I don’t recall that. Golly, your story is like a movie.”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. This week we listened to last week’s recording first, in order to get Mr. Tennies’ voice consistent.
Comments. As the end of the audio installments approaches, we’re considering what to do next. Possibilities include a first chapter audio sample of each of our books, or simply going back to the beginning of Jack and posting about how we are changing the manuscript as we get it ready for the reissue.
Story changes. Minor changes to the written version this week. The sentence structure and words worked well in the switch from text to audio.
