Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
Nessa clasped Jack’s hand. Mr. Sterling crowded close to Sheriff Garrison’s left shoulder. They all waited for Mr. Tennies to speak.
He shifted his weight and leaned against the sheriff’s cruiser, resting his narrow backside on his manacled hands. “I came to offer my assistance in removing the tree from the drive.”
“And took a side trip into the greenhouse office?” Sheriff Garrison flicked sheets of paper between her first and second fingers. She’d confiscated the lab results from Mr. Tennies’s jacket pocket during the routine pat down after she’d issued his Miranda warning. “Come on, Tenner. The truth.”
“Truth is, this is all a misunderstanding.”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. We’re not sure if difficulty in clearly enunciating the “sp” followed by “ed” sound at the end of words is a personal idiosyncrasy or whether that’s a difficulty other narrators have as well. We typically have to eliminate space in the final recording between the main word and that ending. In this recording, that word was “clasped.”
Comments. Overall, this week’s recording went well, though we are going to have to watch for continuity in voicing Mr. Tennies.
Story changes. No changes to the written version this week. The sentence structure and words worked well in the switch from text to audio.
