Below is the text version of the audio.
(Show notes are beneath the text.)
Mr. Sterling puffed to a halt beside them. “What’s he talking about, Tenner?”
Mr. Tennies clamped his lips together.
“Tenner?” Mr. Sterling said again.
Nessa raised Jack’s phone and punched in the emergency number.
Five minutes later, the shriek of a police siren preceded the sheriff’s patrol car down the highway. The cruiser swished off the pavement and jolted to a halt behind Mr. Sterling’s car, its lightbar swirling blue and red.
Sheriff Garrison jumped out, took in the scene with one swift glance, and began barking orders. “Tim, get your old relic out of way. Jack, let go of Tenner. Nessa, step back.”
While they scrambled to do her bidding, the sheriff snapped a command into her radio.
Then, eyeing them all, she said, “And one of you better tell me what’s going on here. Immediately.”
We’re new to the Audacity, the sound program we use for our audio recordings, and to sound effects in general. These are our thoughts on the current episode.
Recording. We recorded this segment in one take, after three practice runs with the microphone off.
Technical. Simpler is generally better, in writing and in mastering. We find that using the same set of effects and corrections helps maintain continuity between installments.
Comments. Humidity in the air leads to increased squishy voice sounds. Hard to work around the rain storms in Carpenter Country this time of year.
Story changes. No changes to the sentence structure this week. BUT we caught ANOTHER typo. Sheesh!
