A spindly tree stood in the woods covered by an evil vine.

Each day the vine tightened its grip

and the little tree drooped lower and lower.

One morning a girl carrying a shovel walked into the forest.

She yanked off the vine and dug the stubby tree from the ground.

Soon, planted in the right place, the undersized sapling flourished and grew into a beautiful flowering dogwood.
